Belgium's NEPTUNIAN MAXIMALISM (aka NNMM) is a community of “cultural engineers” with a variable line-up, mixing drone metal with spiritual free jazz and psychedelic music. The project was initiated in 2018 by multi-instrumentalist Guillaume Cazalet (Czlt, Jenny Torse, Aksu), who brought together veteran saxophonist Jean Jacques Duerinckx (Ze Zorgs) and two drummers, Sebastien Schmit (K-Branding) and Pierre Arese (Aksu).

Mahavishnu Orchestra was one of the keystone bands of the jazz-rock fusion movement. Their 1975 album Visions of the Emerald Beyond is a more accessible album, consisting of shorter jazz-rock tracks. The songs are connected with each other and even got some influences from the funk music of that time. Fast-paces fusion tracks are alternated with some shorter arranged pieces. “Lila’s Dance” is an outstanding track, consisting of guitar riffs and beautiful piano and violin melodies. This album is a magnificent musical work of virtuosity at its highest level and proves that the 2nd Mahavishnu Orchestra line-up is as good as the original one. Mahavishnu Orchestra have been cited many times as a big influence on everyone from King Crimson and Frank Zappa to The Mars Volta. Frontman and guitarist John McLaughlin has always been the main figure in the band, both during their first (1971-1976) and second line-up (1984-1987).

Joe's Garage is a three-part rock opera recorded by American musician Frank Zappa in September and November 1979. Originally released as two separate studio albums on Zappa Records, the project was later remastered and reissued as a triple album box set, Joe's Garage, Acts I, II & III, in 1987. The story is told by a character identified as the "Central Scrutinizer" narrating the story of Joe, an average adolescent male, from Canoga Park, Los Angeles, who forms a garage rock band, has unsatisfying relationships with women, gives all of his money to a government-assisted and insincere religion, explores sexual activities with appliances, and is imprisoned.

Sheik Yerbouti is a double album by Frank Zappa, first released in March 1979 as the first release on Zappa Records (distributed by Phonogram Inc.). It was later released on one CD. It is mostly made up of live material recorded in 1977 and 1978, with later overdubs in the studio.

Zoot Allures is the 22nd album by the American rock musician Frank Zappa, released in October 1976 and his only release on the Warner Bros. Records label. Due to a lawsuit with his former manager, Herb Cohen, Zappa's recording contract was temporarily reassigned from DiscReet Records to Warner Bros.
