    NI LabVIEW 2025 Q3 | 3.4 Gb

NI is now part of Emerson's new Test & Measurement business group has released LabView 2025 Q3 is a programming environment used to create applications using the G programming language.

New and Changed Features for LabVIEW 2025 Q3 - Date: Jul/18/2025

Note: New and Changed Features Public Beta for LabVIEW 2025 Q3. The official press release has not been published at this time.
    Debugging Enhancements
    - Debug Window : LabVIEW 2025 Q3 combines probe and breakpoint management in a new Debug Window, which replaces the Probe Watch Window.
    - Log Unwired Errors : In LabVIEW 2025 Q3, you have the option to record unwired errors in a log file, independent of whether you enable the Automatic Error Handling dialog to report them.
    Environment Enhancements
    - Select All Text with Ctrl+A: LabVIEW 2025 Q3 enables the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+A to select all text whenever editing a text field, including in labels, string controls, and dialogs.
    - Quickly Open Files with Ctrl+Shift+O: LabVIEW 2025 Q3 adds the Quick Open dialog (keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+O). The dialog displays recently-opened files and filters as you type the file name you want to open. If you have a project open, the Quick Open dialog includes all the files in the project as well.
    - Preserve Values by Default When Placing Diagram Disable Structures: In LabVIEW 2025 Q3, when placing a Diagram Disable Structure to enclose a section of code, LabVIEW will match output tunnels with input tunnels to wire values through in the Enabled frame by default. If LabVIEW is not able to find the source for a refnum or LabVIEW class output tunnel, the tunnel will not be configured with “Use Default if Unwired.”
    - Context Help Notes Section for VI: LabVIEW 2025 Q3 adds a Notes section to the Context Help for VIs to highlight settings that might be of interest when reviewing VI block diagrams. This section includes:
. Reentrancy – only if the VI is configured for shared clone reentrant execution or preallocated clone reentrant execution.
. Execution Priority – only if the VI is configured to a priority other than normal priority.
. Preferred Execution System – only if the VI is configured to a Preferred Execution System other than “same as caller” or “standard.”
    - Context Help Notes Section for Call Library Function Node: LabVIEW 2025 Q3 adds a Notes section to the Context Help for Call Library Function Nodes. This section includes:
    . Function prototype
    . Library name or path
    CI/CD Enhancements
    - Generate VI Comparison Reports with the LabVIEW Command Line Interface: LabVIEW 2025 Q3 adds a new command to the LabVIEW Command Line Interface for generating VI Comparison reports.
    Example:

LabVIEWCLI -OperationName CreateComparisonReport -vi1 "firstVINameOrPath" -vi2 "secondVINameOrPath" -reportType htmlSingleFile -reportPath "reportNameorPath.html"
The supported report types are case insensitive:
. HTML – produces an HTML format report with external images and style file
. HTMLSingleFile – produces an HTML form report with embedded images and style definition
. MicrosoftWord – produces a report in Microsoft Word format (requires Microsoft Word to be installed)
. PlainText – produces a report in plain text
. XML – produces a report in XML format with external images
    The command supports optional arguments:
. -o – overwrites existing report and supporting files if they exist
. -c – creates the directory for report path if it does not exist
. -nofp – excludes front panel differences
. -nofppos – excludes front panel position differences
. -nobd – excludes block diagram differences
. -nobdcosm – excludes block diagram cosmetic differences
. -noattr – excludes VI attribute differences
If VIs or the report file are specified by name or relative path, LabVIEW uses the directory from which the LabVIEWCLI was launched to resolve the path.
    General Enhancements
    - Support for Windows Long Paths: LabVIEW 2025 Q3 adds support for Windows long paths.
    - Array Export Commands Support Additional Data Types: In LabVIEW 2025 Q3, the Export Data to Clipboard and Export Data to Excel commands in the right-click menu of arrays are enabled for arrays of paths as well as one-dimensional arrays of clusters containing only numeric, string, and path.
    - Source Distributions Default Option for Compiled Code Changed: In LabVIEW 2025 Q3, new source distributions on desktop targets will use the compiled code setting saved in each source file by default. Previously, the default was to embed compiled code in all source files.

LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) is a graphical programming language that uses icons instead of lines of text to create applications. In contrast to text-based programming languages that use instructions to determine the order of program execution, LabVIEW uses dataflow programming. In data flow programming, the flow of data through the nodes on the block diagram determines the execution order of the VIs and functions. VIs, or virtual instruments, are LabVIEW programs that imitate physical instruments. In LabVIEW, you build a user interface by using a set of tools and objects. The user interface is known as the front panel. After you build the front panel, you add code using graphical representations of functions to control the front panel objects. You add this graphical code, also known as G code or block diagram code, to the block diagram. The block diagram somewhat resembles a flowchart. The block diagram, front panel, and graphical representations of code compose a VI.

    Introduction to the LabVIEW+ Suite

We’re excited to announce the release of the NI LabVIEW+ Suite. It’s a suite of LabVIEW, plus, more NI software that provides purpose-built tools for automating measurement, analysis, and test. The software works together to save you time.
Emerson is a global technology and software company providing innovative solutions for the world’s essential industries. Through its leading automation portfolio, including its majority stake in AspenTech, Emerson helps hybrid, process and discrete manufacturers optimize operations, protect personnel, reduce emissions and achieve their sustainability goals.
(October 11, 2023) – Emerson has announced it has closed its acquisition of NI (National Instruments), a leading provider of software-connected automated test and measurement systems.
