    Fra il XII e il XIII secolo, al moltiplicarsi delle esperienze religiose fa riscontro l'intolleranza ecclesiastica verso ogni forma di autonomia quale espressione di una volontà di inquadramento tesa a dirigere ogni aspetto della vita degli uomini.
