    Il desiderio che mi ha guidato nel riportare nel metro endecasillabo la prima traduzione italiana delle Mille ed una notte, nasce dall’idea che il testo, più che letto, debba essere ascoltato. D'altronde l’opera, così come gli antichi modi per comunicarsi tra gli uomini la storia e le leggende passate, è stata originariamente sempre in forma orale. Ricordo, pertanto, che per rendere facile la memorizzazione, veniva adottato il verso, l’endecasillabo per eccellenza nelle regioni italiche, per l’armonia con cui le accentazioni entrano sintonia con l’apparato celebrale umano.
