Donald L. Canney - Lincoln's Navy: The Ships, Men and Organization, 1861-65
Naval Institute Press | 1998 | ISBN: 1557505195 | 244 pages | PDF | 121.68 MB

This is an excellent study of the Union Navy from almost every angle (excluding operations history). The book is well researched, well illustrated, and yet enjoyable to read. The photographs and text would be essential reading for the historian, writers, model makers and wargamer.
