    Perch parlare ancora di diseguaglianze scolastiche, e perch farlo dalla prospettiva degli studenti stranieri? Come ha mostrato anche la crisi pandemica, il nostro sistema formativo resta distante dall'ideale di pari opportunit: il contesto familiare continua a incidere fortemente sulle possiblit di apprendimento e di realizzazione di studenti e studentesse, producendo divari che la scuola non in grado di appianare. Per chi ha origini straniere, gli ostacoli sono anche maggiori. Eppure, i figli degli immigrati rappresentano il futuro delle nostre societ, afflitte dall'invecchiamento demografico: in Italia, nella scuola primaria, un alunno su dieci ormai di origine immigrata. Allo stesso tempo, la crescente emigrazione italiana fa s che sempre pi spesso, in Europa, gli stranieri sui banchi siamo noi. Partendo dai pi recenti studi internazionali, l'autrice ricostruisce i divari educativi fra studenti stranieri ed autoctoni in Europa e si interroga sul ruolo che le istituzioni possono giocare nel ridurli.
