New Hyperspace

This book proposes a comprehensive and interdisciplinary framework for understanding the expanded space created by digital technologies, networks, artificial intelligence, and the convergence of the physical and virtual worlds.

Hyperspace builds on twenty-five years of research and teaching, and revisits ideas I first articulated in 25 Lectures on Hyperspace , now updated to reflect the profound transformations of the digital age. The book is structured around key dimensions—laws, standards, geography, energy, entropy, time, cognition, and artificial intelligence—offering readers a systematic approach to the complexities of the contemporary information order.

Unlike popular narratives such as Ray Kurzweil’s Singularity or Yuval Noah Harari’s Nexus , this book emphasizes not only the technological but also the philosophical, geopolitical, and cognitive implications of living in an interconnected, coded, and standardized world. It situates hyperspace as both a scientific and cultural framework, drawing on thinkers such as Foucault, Baudrillard, Virilio, and Borges, while proposing original concepts such as hyperentropy , hyperenergy , and hypercognition .

I believe this project will resonate with scholars and advanced students in media studies, digital culture, communication, philosophy of technology, and global studies, as well as with an informed general audience interested in the future of humanity in a networked world.

Explores Hyperspace in its dimensions: its laws, its digital geology, its energy dynamics, its relationship to time and distance, as well as its interaction with chaos and complexity. We will also examine how to learn and create in this constantly changing environment, where hypercognition and AI are redefining our ability to understand and act.
