André Popp is a French composer, arranger and conductor, born on February 19, 1924 in Fontenay-le-Comte (Vendée) and died on May 10, 2014 in Puteaux (Hauts-de-Seine).

For several decades, he was both composer and arranger for leading performers such as Juliette Gréco (La Complainte du téléphone, 1957), Anthony Perkins (On ne mort pas pour ça, 1961), and especially, for several consecutive years, for Marie Laforêt with the songs Les Noces de campagne (1964), Ah! Say, say (1965), Manchester and Liverpool (1966) and My love, my friend (1967). He also made arrangements such as that of Irma the sweet for Zizi Jeanmaire (1957).

Among his most famous songs composed, we can mention: The Washerwomen of Portugal (1955), Tom Pillibi (Grand Prix of Eurovision 1960 won by Jacqueline Boyer), and especially Love is Blue, world famous under the title Love is Blue (1967).

He is also the composer of the educational musical tale Piccolo, Sax and Company or the little story of a great orchestra (1956) and the albums Elsa Popping and its stunning music and Delirium in Hi Fi (1957).
