    Distinguée comme “la relève du piano français”, Bella Schütz choisit, pour son premier enregistrement, Bach et Chopin. Le jeune Bach des Toccatas et de la Fantaisie chromatique, et le Chopin de la maturité, avec les Nocturnes, la Fantaisie et la Barcarolle – association singulière, où les divergences soulignent d’autant mieux les points de rencontre des imaginaires des deux compositeurs.
    Plutôt que de regarder ces pièces une perspective historique, Bella Schütz nous invite à les considérer comme des œuvres absolues, évoluant hors classification, hors catégorie, pour apprécier d’autant mieux ce qui les relie : fantaisie et improvisation, encapsulés dans une virtuosité qui n’est jamais gratuite et au creux de laquelle conversent sans cesse le clair et l’obscur.
