One of the more unique doom bands on the planet would have to be The Moon Mistress from Russia. I always knew they were something special ever since I first heard their demo work, even more so on the 'Obsessed by Cursed Wastelands' split album with Snakerider. Now with their first full-length release, the band has truly come of age with 63 minutes of captivating, atmospheric doom metal that goes way beyond what I was expecting.

The Russian shamans Lord Of Doubts returned from their journey in the cold steppes with a killer three track EP called "The Gates Of Doom". To be honest I was expecting a full album coming after their last year debut one but I can live with this little fix too. For once more the comparison to Electric Wizard is inevitable (personally I hadn't problem with that and neither have now). But these guys seem to catching their own sound step by step. Anyway, I liked their album and definitely I dig this one too. Ritual sludge - doom full of psychedelic vibes. In this EP they created even gloomier and thicker atmosphere. Since latest Electric Wizard's work might have disappointed many of you, this is what you need…

'Here I Am' is 22 year old Oli Brown's third and best album so far. It may not quite be the definitive recording of his career but it comes pretty damn close with moments of real intensity and inspiration as he updates his primal funky blues roots and transforms them into contemporary cutting edge music. Much like his burgeoning career as a whole, 'Here I Am' is an exponential function of Oli's adventurous take on the blues. It's guitar driven music which boldly embraces the new directions in which his riffs, grooves, rhythms, feelings and lyrical rhymes take him.

Dialogue is the latest release by Steve Weingart. It is just as great as all the other albums he has released. The music feels "current". Hip grooves, flowing melodies, and great musicians. The entire set of songs on Dialogue are very interesting and inspiring. On Bass and Vocals is his wife, Renee Jones. Very talented musician. One of the trademarks of any great musician is their "signature". Steve has a distinct signature in his playing. Effortless runs, melodic arrangements and a sense of cohesiveness with the band of musicians. You feel a sense that everyone is supporting one another in their performance. That comes forth in the music and makes the listening experience very enjoyable.
