Polish technical death metallers from Catharsis release their ew album 'Rhyming Life And Death' via Mad Lion Records. The band was active in the 90's, often compared to bands like Death, Atheist and Cynic. After a quite succesful release of 'Bitter Distain' and some life performances, Catharsis decided to take a break. Back in 2010, reactivated by the bassist/singer Adam Mamok and guitarist Tomasz Świerz, the band started to work on the new material. Joined by a young female guitarist Katarzyna 'Kate' Bujas, Catharsis decided to finally hit the studio. The album was recorded in Invent Sound Studio (Bydgoszcz, Poland) during a few sessions from October 2012 to March 2013, with a session drummer Łukasz 'Lucass' Krzesiewicz (Sammath Naur, Gida) - produced, mixed and mastered by Szymon 'Sigmar' Grodzki (Sammath Naur, ex - Mala Herba). The cover artwork of 'Rhyming Life And Death' was made by Michał 'Xaay' Loranc, the artist known from cooperation with bands like Behemoth, Vader and Nile.

French accordionist and bandoneon player Richard Galliano has spent much of his career demonstrating that his instruments can be employed not only in the service of folk music, but also to play jazz. His long tenure on Dreyfus Records was spent in that endeavor, but with Deutsche Grammophon, the venerable classical label, he naturally takes a different tack, here adapting himself to the demands of Johann Sebastian Bach. (…) as Galliano re-creates the majesty of Bach's music on his accordion, proving its worth as a formal instrument, just as he has previously as a jazz axe.

Although Johnny Frigo was a violinist early on in his career, he switched to bass and didn't make his recorded debut as a leader until he was 71, following an appearance on The Tonight Show. At the age of 84, his swinging tone still sounds effortless in these very enjoyable studio sessions with Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Vignola, and Bill Charlap (the latter two back Frigo separately). This is the ultimate Tribute concert featuring Larry Coryell, Stanley Clarke, Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin, Ricky Lee Jones and others. Recorded live 1992 at Expo for spanish television. Tony Hollingsworth is no man for unfinished business. The experienced promoter organised the Mandela concerts (1988 and 1990, London), The Wall (1990, Berlin), and this unique concert series called Guitar Legends, held in 1991 prior to the Expo 92 in Seville, Spain. Live recordings from the 1991 expo have now been compiled into a fitting tribute to the late Jazz Star Miles Davis.

This album made the headlines in 2006 as the UK’s first classical “on the night” recording. CDs were made during the second part of the concert for the audience to take home after the concert. This is the first time this CD is commercially released. Symphonies 39 & 49 are among the last composed by Mozart. They use the full eighteenth-century orchestra, complete with trumpets and timpani.
