Klaus Doldinger (born 12 May 1936) is a German saxophonist, especially well known for jazz and as a composer of film music. He was the recipient of 1997's Bavarian Film Awards (Honorary Award). 14 selections recorded between 1963 and 1977: Doldinger with Paul Nero, The Motherhood, Passport, Etta James, Johnny Griffin, Les McCann and others. The music reflects his deep understanding of jazz and blues and his ability to play Rhythm & Blues like no other European tenor saxophone player.
Tony Patterson is a solo artist/musician and Composer from the North east of England. He is probably best known as singer with top UK Genesis tribute act ReGenesis and recently contributed to the NICK MAGNUS album "n’monix”. Brendan Eyre has been playing keyboards in a variety of bands and released a CD of his own instrumental compositions (Ghost Ships). With vocalist Marc Atkinson he formed Riversea.
The Post-Human Condition, the second release from the group No More Pain, is pretty intent on letting you know you’ll have to be more engaged than you ordinarily would. The cover of the release shows an omniscient computer monitor in the shy with a demonic eye surveying humans tumbling out of it, slowly evolving into sheep as they fall. The narrative, while not performed in broad, rock-opera strokes, does relate to the last “untethered” man who awakes in a world overrun by technology. You probably couldn’t get more album-oriented than that in the digital age.
Released in 1998 EXHUMED's now-classic debut full-length 'Gore Metal' was a boundary pushing album of absolutely filthy grinding death-metal. Everything about it was over the top–lightning fast speed, blazing guitars, b-movie slasher-film inspired lyrics, disgusting album artwork, etc etc. This was a record that made Carcass look PG. In otherwords, a true underground classic! Not content to let the album rot away, EXHUMED returned to the studio almost 2 decades later to re-record their landmark debut. The filthy fury of the original version is still there, only tightened up by years of touring and with a greatly improved recording. Presented with completely new art-work that is even more disgusting than the original!
Swanlights, the fourth full-length by Antony and the Johnsons, reveals that 2009's The Crying Light was a stepping stone that furthered his sophistication as a songwriter, arranger, and singer. While that album's tunes about acceptance, death, transformation, and loss were added to immeasurably by Nico Muhly's gorgeous string arrangements, Swanlights employs the same band, this time augmented by a chamber orchestra. Antony Hegarty uses his voice on this set as much as a textural element in his songs as he does to deliver his poetic, and sometimes head-scratchingly obtuse lyrics, like "Elect the salt mother, for she is a selective Christ." These songs engage with popular genres from folk-rock to grand classical chamber orchestral, but they do touch on vanguard art song as well.
"Airwaves" is an album released by British rock band Badfinger in 1979 on the Elektra label (a sister label to Warner Bros. Records, their previous label), the seventh album released that was credited to Badfinger. Anticipated as a comeback album for the group at the time, expectations were not quite realized, as the "group" now consisted of just the duo of Tom Evans and Joey Molland, accompanied by guitarist Joe Tansin and various session musicians. Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Badfinger features the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (compatible with standard CD players) and 2013 remastering.
Mike and Brenda Sutton (also known as the Suttons) are singers and songwriters from Los Angeles, California.
