Nashville multi-instrumentalist, Andrew Adkins, is on a roll. He has had songs featured on ABC, DirectTV, MTV, USA Network, The Washington Post and EntertainmentWeekly.com. His song "I'm Indestructible" is featured in the trailer for the film, "Cymbeline" (Lionsgate Films) starring Ethan Hawke, Dakota Johnson and Milla Jovovich. The popular music blog Consequence of Sound recently debuted the trailer for the Colin Hanks' Tower Records documentary "All Things Must Pass" which features Andrew's song "Fire & Brimstone."

On Jan. 15, Andrew Adkins reaches another milestone with the release of his new full-length album, Glass Castles, following his 2014 project Colored Parade, which received critical acclaim. The 13 track album is a deft blend of twangy western, upbeat folk rock and smoldering blues. Glass Castles uses a variety of layered acoustics, tambourine, harmonica and percussions all wrapped with neatly with Adkins warm and grainy vocals. The best part? Adkins plays most of the instruments on Glass Castles himself.

Glass Castles starts with a twangy, toe-tapping melody on “Freeborn Heart.” “May the Stars Fall at Your Door” slows the tempo down a bit, but continues Adkins ironic tambourine and harmonic punctuating his soft-spoken, soothing vocals. On his catchy western folk rock track, “The River in All of Us”, Adkins sings “The only thing that’s certain / is the flood of uncertainty” with a bit of grain in his voice and layered acoustic guitars. On the title track, Adkins sings a meandering lovelorn tune Nashville style. Finally, the album closes out with the catchy and upbeat “Jubilee (Land of the Free)”.

With so much music coming out of Nashville, it can be easy for little gems to slip by and fade into darkness. With a sound that embodies the all of the buzzworthy music coming from down south, Andrew Adkins’ Glass Castles is almost certainly one of those Nashville gems. Don’t let Glass Castles slip past you.
