Throughout the years Darryl Carter has recorded for a multitude of labels, but the songs have rarely been released and haven’t remained in production. Most of the releases were meant to show other artists how to sing the songs he’d written. In the 80s as soul music began to see a decline in the US, Darryl launched the HCD imprint. He recorded an album on Tim Carter, but the album was never promoted and was essentially lost to time as Darryl began working in Sacramento. He took those songs and began cutting the album again and in the 90s “…And Then I Wrote” was pressed. After shopping the demo around to a few labels Darryl encountered a loss that was devastating.
