Timofei Dokshitser has recorded thirty LPs which, while revealing the scope of his talent, allow us to have an insight into his creative process, the way he solves artistic and technical tasks. These recordings reflect different periods of his career, his quests and aspirations.Tracklist:
T. Dokshitser has always treated the trumpet as a singing instrument close to human voice. Brilliant technique allows the musician to reveal all the depth and wealth of his creative imagination. T. Dokshitser tackles music of all styles and epochs; many composers dedicate their works to him. His mastery has been recorded in films, TV, radio and on discs.
T. Dokshitser's experience in interpretating numerous Russian and western works, his distinctive "voice" and perfect command of his instrument enable him to expand the trumpet's expressive possibilities, to help composers and perfomers to find new ways of developing this excellent instrument. Hence a large number of trumpet transcriptions of violin, cello, piano and vocal works.
The programme of this CD — a recital by T. Dokshitser — includes masterpieces of romantic music as well as pieces by C. Debussy and R. Strauss.
The first line of the Russian translation of the lyrics by V. Hugo used by F. Liszt in a romance "Oh! quand je dors", gave the name to this CD.
