from rockchilelatinoamerica

Guitarist & founder of not 1 not 2 but 3 of Peru's supreme garage rock bands: the killer Los Doltons, hard stompin' Los Shains, and the stonerlicious St Thomas Pepper Smelter. Manuel wasn't even 25 years old by the time he'd run through them all & become a superstar. A new studio that was looking for cred asked him to do some free recording at night, so he whipped up an easygoing band of pals for wine-fueled oldies & screwing around. Corpulent fuzz licks, fantastic whorls of hammond, and some easygoing covers of '96 Tears' or Grand Funk. Played like a boss, recorded beautifully, & I only wish the gatefold pic of Manuel staring you down in his mismatched vest & ugly fedora was poster sized.
