    K.D. Lang's first live album finds this amazingly talented artist and her eight-piece band taking a career-spanning tour through her genre-bending repertoire. Lang isn't shy about paying tribute to her heroes as she delivers an impressive range of covers by Roy Orbison ("Crying"), Patsy Cline ("Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray"), Peggy Lee ("Don't Smoke in Bed"), and Ella Fitzgerald ("Black Coffee"). When this Canadian chanteuse isn't deftly handling these interpretations, she's knee-deep in original material that's just as moving, particularly when rendered by such a crack band.This is a gem of an album by a performer whose meandering creative path continues to yield gold.
