A band from Lucerne, Switerland, that captures the atmosphere of the North. And they capture it as if they would have never been to another place than the very North. But what does the North sound like? For a lot of people SIGUR RÓS are the incarnation of Nordic sound, with their huge soundscapes they build up a dreamy atmosphere that seems to stop time. And with the stopping of time there comes a certain melancholy. These two things might be what characterize the Nordic sound: melancholy and the feeling of timelessness. It is the thunder, the lightning and the storm that might be scaring for most people, but still there ever has been a fascination for it. A fascination for the powerful nature that surrounds us. And nature is timeless – and melancholic, at least in the North. Kapnorth take these topics and set them to music.
