Kate Havnevik - Residue [Remixes, Rarities & Demos] (2014)

The best things are the instrumental versions of the original songs (especially those taken from Melankton ) . Also appear live tracks ( Unlike Me) and demos (eg . Mouth to mouth stretch by You) . A work intended for collectors and fans of pure Havnevik . For singer-songwriter 's own admission , " I wanted to share with you a collection of b-sides , remixes and demos that never Has Been officially released. This is part of my journey in creating music . Not all Of These tracks Represent me as the artist I am now , but it does show the journey of getting to where I am now .
These tracks are all outsiders in one way or another , and these songs have never fitted onto any of my albums . They are all written at different times , and some are as old as from 1997. They in production and the vary in style and are the kind of songs That always " had something" , but never felt quite right . 'm still very fond of these songs and did not want them to be hidden for all time . " 

So Havnevik talked about the remix of Serpentine : " I met Dokkemand (Marius Grøtterud Egenes ) on myspace ( facebook Existed before ) and I really liked his music . We Became friends and kept in touch and when to Melankton I had done I asked him to do a remix , he picked this song . We finished the mix in His bedsit studio in Oslo on a dark winter night . His approach I think and feel is wonderful . Then I had my friend Andy Page to a special program for the ending song for live performances and I think it is so cool I edited it into Dokkemand 's remix for all to hear . " 

And so Trollmor : " Trollmor 's Vuggesang is a famous lullaby written by Swedish writer Margit Holmberg . My mother used to sing this for me when I was a child , and I used to sing it for my little brother . I have always loved it and wanted to make a fairytale sounding version of the song. When I initially recorded this song it was supposed to be the opening track on Melankton , but I thought since Melankton was my debut album it was a bit risky to open with a new version of a Scandinavian famous lullaby That people were attached to . recorded the strings with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra along with all the tracks Melankton " 

Among the authors of remixes appear Dokkemand , Andy Page , Andy Bradfield and Temposhark . Recommended for those who also loves the music of Natalie Walker and Emiliana Torrini . The songs are the best and Real Someday (Andy Bradfield Mix) between the new versions of the instrumental If Meg and Timeless .
