Lôro Malandro - Enrumbado (2025)

“Enrumbado”, the new CD by the duo composed of Sicilian accordionist Antonino De Luca, who now lives in the Marche region, and Marche saxophonist Leonardo Rosselli, with the special participation of the great Spanish flutist Jorge Pardo, considered one of the great innovators of contemporary music for his ability to blend jazz and flamenco and for his prestigious collaborations with Paco de Lucía, Camarón de la Isla and Chick Corea (with whom he won a Grammy in 2020). An original project – dedicated to the Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and composer Egberto Gismonti – which explores the encounter between flamenco culture, Brazilian culture, the world of electronic experimentation and concrete music.

Perhaps because I am immersed in flamenco, which makes this feeling its religion, I always meet artists, musicians and other enthusiasts who express this feeling. That’s what I think about making music with Nino in general and this recording in particular.’

The sublimation of so many influences comes with new experiments between electronic and concrete music, as in our “Baião quotidiano”, the collection of “noises” caused by our daily actions that are photographed by our imagination and transformed into music, the result of the wonderful adventures of our lôro, a little malandro, but above all, very enrumbado.”
