Japanese 1st Press CD with bonus track

This is the third MVP album from frontman/vocalist Mike Vescera, who has made the rounds with a number of well-known metal acts, including Loudness, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Obsession. There are guests galore on this release, with some of the more notable names being Roland Grapow, Mike Chlasciak, Joe Stump, and Rob Johnson. Stylistically, this discs covers several realms of hard rock/metal. There are good harmonies to be found almost everywhere. The darker moments remind a bit of Dio, while the faster tracks flow like Balance of Power. There’s a Feinstein-like keyboard aura that breathes like a demented Deep Purple, as well. All in all this is a fine release for fans of traditional metal, or those who like hard rock songwriting with a dirty and distorted kick to it. A constant double-bass attack motivates the heavy-handed "Crucified," while a head-moving drive is absolutely nasty in "Burnin’ Up." "Losing Sight" has one of the disc’s tougher choruses, with a host of other tracks also leaving a strong impression: "Awakening," "The Altar," "On Our Way (To Hell)," "Unlock (The Mystery)," and "Peace of Mind."
