The piano output of Tomás Marco (Madrid, 1942) occupies a significant place in his musical catalogue. The composer himself recounts that his first composition for this instrument was Fetiches, a youthful piece written in 1967/68 and premiered at the Stadelijk Museum in Amsterdam by Pedro Espinosa. Throughout the last four decades and particularly during the nineties, Marco completed a large range of piano works covering several of his creative phases. Notable among these are Sonata Atlántica (1999), a three-movement work of generous length, taking its name from the musical elements used, from both sides of the Atlantic, skilfully linked by the maestro, Jardín de Espérides (2002), homage to the Canary Islands, a place of mythological fantasies evoked by a singular landscape, climate and ambience, or Tres piezas Minuto, compiled in 2002, a collection of three extremely short works of which Nana para el soñar de Beatriz written for the birth of the daughter of the conductor José Luis Témes stands out.Tracks:
