Metropolitan Jazz Affair - MJA (2003)

Metropolitan Jazz Affair is a Lyon France based jazz band created in 2002 with: Eric “Mr Day” Duperray (vocals, guitar); Stephane Ronget (flugehorn, trumpet, trombone and back vocals); Benjamin Devigne (grand piano, Fender Rhodes, Hammond organ); Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart (bass, doublebass, programmings).
“MJA” tends to make the connnection between jazz and soul music, with various influences, from the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Pharoah Sanders, Leon Thomas or more actual sounds like The Roots, Roy Ayers.
