More than a decade in the making, Moonroot’s debut comprises years of recordings that took place periodically throughout their career. Born before the large folk metal trend, Moonroot was in pursuit of capturing the old and blending it with the new. Featuring members of the esteemed US medieval ensemble, The Soil Bleeds Black and the soprano voice of Dawn Desiree’ of Rain Fell Within, Moonroot’s debut is a quality showcase of melodic and catchy tracks that will take the listener on an adventure through the ancient past. The use of authentic period instruments coupled with modern ones, brings powerful character to the album. The title track features a guest vocal appearance from Alison O’Donnell of Mellow Candle, one of the most respected early 70′s prog-folk bands of its time.
