Such an artist is Phutureprimitive. Hailing from the Northwest, Phutureprimitive's sophomore effort, Kinetik (Autonomous Music, 2011), is a multi-dimensional board game stocked with game pieces forged from fractals and dice shaped like heavenly bodies. From the breakout single, "The Changeling," to cuts like "Xotica" and "High Rez," Phuture explodes his sound with a new battery of lazers and cosmic dust cannons that leaves his (also, very rad) older material in artistry's stylistic wake. Seemingly infused by supernovas, Kinetik takes the Phutureprimitive experience into more animated regions of idm and with great result.
