Setsuna – Evolve (2015)

"Evolve" is a very personal album for Erik: The songs describe moments of strong Change, introspection and reflection, as Erik says himself. Away from lounge through to synthetic Electronica are the majority of the tracks instrumental performances and offer some of the best session musicians in Hamburg. The only vocals on the album are Erik's four year old son Noah, nine years of Lea and a traditional Japanese street musician. The musical ideas and the sound design of "Evolve" followed by a "no compromise" attitude, which is supported by many First Take shots of live musicians. With this rich base sounds, the album flows between Downtempo, synthetic, cinematic and ambient styles. The album can be described as atmospheric, electronic, rough and yet still calm of heart and mind. Most of the songs were written within a few days, recorded and produced. Some in just a few hours. The continuity of the album from beginning to end is witness to the intensity with which Setsuna has followed this musical ideas.
