    Stormwind was founded in 1996 and already released three albums before this one. The band is the brain-child of Thomas Wolf, guitarist, composer and producer of this album. Wolf has been a Swedish champion in Karate and the sparring partner of Dolph Lundgren but soon found something better to do when he was discovered as the guitar virtuoso he is. The first two albums of the band - Straight From Your Heart (released in Japan only) and Stargate - were recorded with different line-ups before on 1999’s Heaven Can Wait the current line-up was formed. Now here’s Stormwind’s new album - their debut for Massacre Records - called Resurrection, and it’s an absolute classic in it’s genre. It has the same quality as Rising Force’s Odyssey for instance, the latter album being one of my favorite albums ever. From beginning to end you can hear highlight after highlight on this masterpiece. Every song is a winner, be it the beautiful, prog-influenced Souldance, the soulful Blinded Eyes or the instrumental guitarsymphony Synphonia Millennialis, the album is oozing class all the way. And Thomas Wolf proves to be a class-act guitarist indeed. An honorable mention goes to Thomas Vikström who - again - proves to be one of the world's greatest singers. Is there anything this man can’t sing? People who love the neo-classical stuff, like Majestic, Stratovarius and such should absolutely take a listen to this album. It’s highly recommended!!

    Fans of Yngwie in the late '80's/early '90's will appreciate this CD a lot. The brainchild of Swedish guitarist (where else?!)Thomas Wolf, this could be an Yngwie CD, but with a more vocal hook oriented style. The production is also excellent, and the playing flawless. These guys started as an AOR band, but this latest (4th) album is radically different, and if you like the speed kings of yesteryear, go for it, technique is back!!
