Tangerine Dream - Lost In Strings Vol.1 2CD (2013)

Specially priced 2013 double disc set part-compilation of tracks featuring EF guitar solos, and this includes some re-works and rarities!

To quote from the newsletter release notes:
"So far a collection of Edgar's guitar works alone does not yet exist and we thought it's time to release this now. Many fans - especially from the USA - were asking for such a compilation after the last US tour in 2012 and we now are fulfilling this wish"

We initially promoted this Double Disc set as an Edgar Froese album, but at the last minute it seems to have changed to a TANGERINE DREAM album… well… possibly it’s much the same thing really!

We were also initially informed that it would contain some new material, but it appears not to be the case now, HOWEVER, 'Wardays Sunrise' is a rare cut from ‘The Keep’ & the guitar mix of 'Tangines On & Running' (originally on the ‘Roadmap’ EP) is 'new' in this from, and we are hoping that the other tracks are either re-recorded or re-done in some way.

When a writer for the LA Times asked Edgar few years back, how he would define his guitar playing skills, Edgar’s answer was very straight: “I’m not the best one, but I know what I’m doing”. So, through the last decades while TANGERINE DREAM participated from Edgar’s “painful exercises” on his six string, he never brought himself too much to the foreground.

This is the first time you can listen to some of his guitar landmarks and find out about his authentic style when he gets lost in his strings… ‘Volume II’ to be continued! :-)
