The Shadows invented rock and roll over in England in the late '50s really bringing home the goods by 1961. They were also Cliff Richards backing group and wrote most of his best stuff. This was all down to the Shads' great guitarists Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch as well as long time drummer Brian Bennett. Hank and Bruce stayed together through five decades disbanding the group in 1990 with the release of their '90s album Reflection. In 1985 The Shadows released what some call their greatest album of the '80s. A mix of stunning, melodic guitar instrumentals and well-crafted Beatle-style pop. ~Amazon
