Cal Tjader (Missouri, 1925-1982) was completing its passage through Verve between 1960 and 1968 when, at the peak of its recognition as a jazz musician and his contribution to Latin music fusion, launched this meritorious work, in which meets 9 songs accompanied by a large group of musicians with metal, strings and percussion. Most of the arrangements are made by the composer, arranger and saxophonist Benny Golson. Since the beginning of the disc with 'Blues March' to the closing with 'Song of Ossanha' Tjader does not let us forget for one moment with his performances that jazz is his native language and he amply demonstrates that dominates it with complete fluency. Every issue becomes a vehicle for showcasing their sound between scents of waltz, bossa, swing, gospel, etc.., But always with the accent that Cal gives to his work.Track list:
