Mario Biondi - Sun (2013)

Mario Biondi (born Mario Ranno, on 28 January 1971) is an Italian singer. Born in Catania, Italy, the son of a popular song singer, during his youth sang in various small choirs. Years after he accompanied Franco Califano, Peppino Di Capri, Fred Bongusto, Rosario Fiorello and others on their Concert tours. After a long series of participations with Italian and international artists, and a small production of disco music, during 2006 he achieved success with the Schema Records album Handful of Soul. His deep and warm voice recalls the great interpreters of soul and rhythm and blues music. In 2007, he released a double disc containing live material, entitled I Love You More LIVE. His latest album is Yes you live (2010).

Il nuovo album di mario Biondi arriva dopo due anni di lavoro tra Milano, Los Angeles, New York e Londra, e si preannuncia già un successo internazionale. Infatti 'Sun', in uscita il 29 gennaio 2013, è stato prodotto dallo stesso Biondi e da Bluey, nome d'arte di Jean Paul Maunick e leader della storica jazz band Incognito.
Il disco è stato anticipato dal singolo 'Shine One', scritto insieme a Massimo Greco, già al lavoro con Zucchero e Neffa, e Jan Kincaid, batterista e tastierista del gruppo inglese Brand New Heavies. Senza dimenticare che nell'arrangiamento d'archi del pezzo c'è la mano di Simon Hale, a cui Jamiroquai deve parte della sua fortuna.
Ma 'Sun' è caratterizzato anche da altre importanti collaborazioni, come quella con Chaka Khan (cantante jazz-soul statunitense) nel brano 'Lowdown' di Boz Scaggs.
