Harry Hinch - My Life Is My Own (2018)

First, I'd like to thank you for stopping here at CD Baby. It is always a thrill and an honor when I hear that someone enjoys one of my songs. In 2013, I released my first album These Moments. About 6 months earlier, I has just finished the song Vacation Day and was so happy with the result that I was inspired to create and record several more songs (some had already been written several years previous to then) and put them together in an album format. In 2016, I released my second album Inspiration Desperation. I wanted to make this a concept album just like so many of my progressive rock hero’s had done before. Plus I think that in this digital age, the whole idea of a music album is fading away.

Its much easier to pick favorite songs and play-list them on a phone than to play a whole CD, or an even more ancient vinyl album. I however, like the journey you experience while listening to music that takes you through a story. That’s what I was striving to do with Inspiration Desperation. My experience working in the mental health field inspired me to create a story involving the fictional character Jimmy Foster, a gifted, very successful young man who develops schizo-affective disorder in his late 20's. Now, two and a half years later, I have released my third album "My Life is My Own". This album reflects on various aspects of what makes "Harry" tick. It contains a wide variety musical styles each reflecting different aspects of what I perceive as my life.
