Flashback is a collection of Joan Jett & the Blackhearts odds and sods including 'I Love Rock N Roll' with the Sex Pistols, unreleased before Flashback was compiled. Other rare tracks featured on Flashback are 'Cherry Bomb' live with L7 and 'Bad Reputation' live. This album has been remastered and includes enhanced material including live footage of Joan performing 'Cherry Bomb' with L7, as well as other early footage.
While it includes a healthy share of rarities, nothing on Joan Jett's career overview, Flashback, is not second-rate. Even though she vascillated between punky hard rock and smoothed-out arena-rock for much of the '80s, the disc accentuates her rebellious nature, making Flashback an effective introduction to her career.
