In Ya Ear was a sampler disc from spring 1996 focusing on labels distributed by the BMG company at the time, which included La Face, Rowdy, Miramar, Avex-Critique, Jive, Arista, Zoo, LOUD and big label RCA. It focuses on their "urban" departments, in this case meaning soul/R&B and rap/hip-hop. Of interest is a song by Mr. Malik, who was one half of a teenage hip-hop duo from Atlanta called Illegal. He intended on releasing a solo album that never came to be. The song by him wasn't released anywhere else but here.
