Album played by the recently deceased (October 2009) composer, arranger, pianist, producer and director Manuel Gas. Here he plays a variety of mambo topics, including Perez Prado's hits and his creation ('Phenician mambo').
After studying at the conservatory in Barcelona grew up in the theatrical atmosphere of the 40's and 50's. In the 60's he played with Gerry Mulligan, Stephane Grappelli, GuyLafitte or Bill Coleman . In the 80's Manolo Gas was one of the founders of the band 'Topolino Radio Orchestra' which recorded 6 albums widely accepted in Spain. In his long musical career with his performances as musical director and producer, also arranged and composed songs for many singers of the Spanish scene and was musical director for artists like Nino Bravo, Lola Flores and Rocio Jurado.
