Певческий ансамбль, известный сейчас как The Blind Boys Of Alabama был основан четырьмя подростками спецшколы для незрячих и глухих в Алабаме в 1939. Слепые мальчики выросли во взрослую группу, которая за 72 года несколько раз меняла название и, конечно, состав, но выжила вопреки менявшейся моде - выжила, сохраняя верность глубокой традиции деревенского госпела. 3 мая баптистские "мальчики" (фронтмену всего 80) снова вышли на главную дорогу.
