This album was one of the highlights of the career of trombonist Urban Clifford "Urbie" Green (Alabama, 1926). Worked from the late 40s with 'big bands' and was gradually achieving enormous prestige as an interpreter of his instrument, which caused him to be considered the most valuable trombonist for the recording industry. Urbie recorded with almost every jazz bands during the '50s and '60s and came to form his own band, with which he launched almost thirty discs. His elegant style and his acting versatility with his band achieved a unique listening experience.
