Siemens Digital Industries Software has released NX 2506 Build 1700 (NX 2506 Series). This software helps designers and manufacturers deliver better products faster using powerful, integrated CAD and CAM solutions that realize the full value of the digital twin.

NX 2506 Release notes
With the 2506 release of NX, we are excited to deliver a truly unified platform that seamlessly blends immersive experiences, AI-driven capabilities, cloud-powered flexibility, and a connected digital thread, empowering you to move from design to manufacturing with unprecedented speed and clarity. This release is shaped by your feedback and real-world challenges, ensuring that every new feature supports your need for collaboration, automation, and a single source of truth across CAD, CAM, and Additive Manufacturing.

Below is a summary new features included in this release. For more detailed information, please refer to the "What's New in NX2506"
Computer-aided Design (CAD)
The latest updates to NX for Design introduce powerful capabilities across modeling, collaboration, and validation workflows, designed to enhance design efficiency and innovation.
- Immersive Engineering enables real-time VR collaboration through NX X Immersive Collaborator. You can launch sessions directly from your design workspace to review assemblies or individual parts with comprehensive measurement, markup, and assessment tools—creating a more intuitive design experience.
- NX X Copilot leverages artificial intelligence to provide contextual design insights and technical guidance through natural language interaction, seamlessly integrated within the workspace.
- Live Share, a new simultaneous engineering tool available through value-based licensing, enables multiple users to co-edit the same part, enhancing team efficiency.
- CFD Designer, built on Simcenter FLOEFD technology, integrates fluid and thermal simulation directly into the design phase. Engineers are now able to make more informed decisions earlier in the development process, reducing costly late-stage modifications.
- NX Inspector advances the connection between design and manufacturing by providing sophisticated characteristic definition capabilities. This tool streamlines quality control and production workflows, ensuring design intent is accurately translated to manufacturing processes.

Computer-aided Manufacturing (CAM)
The latest updates to NX for Manufacturing introduce powerful enhancements across NX CAM and On-Machine Probing, designed to boost programming speed, efficiency, and control.
- Machine Powered Programming now offers intelligent automation that simplifies toolpath creation, considering the CNC machine kinematics. Built-in visual guidance and predefined settings help avoid any possible collisions and ensure optimized machining, especially for complex operations.
- NX CAM App Hub provides easy access to third-party apps directly from NX CAM. Fully compatible with the last four NX CAM releases, it enables you to expand your capabilities with specialized apps, enhancing your productivity.
- Facing Spiral Operation enables smooth cutting strategy for planar faces using circular and morphed spiral patterns. Advanced options such as pattern containment, floor stock, and overhang control, along with a real-time preview, enable instant feedback for faster programming.
- 2D Wall Profiling Operation introduces a simplified interface for quick and intuitive toolpath generation. Essential controls and immediate path updates accelerate programming, making it easier to create high-quality toolpaths.
- On-Machine Probing Machine Cycle Manager provides a graphical interface to create, configure, and manage custom probing cycles. You can build encrypted or tailored cycles, define presets, and access reference materials—streamlining setup across various machine controls.
NX X Manufacturing, the cloud-based CAD/CAM solution that leverages SaaS capabilities, includes these important updates:
- Built-in Data Management streamlines cloud-based data management, including check-in and check-out control and full revision tracking. Where-used indicators reveal dependencies between design parts and CAM setups, while integrated discussion threads and task assignments enable real-time collaboration between design and manufacturing teams.
- NX X Manufacturing Essentials is a new tier that provides the ability to open and review manufacturing data and planning details. Engineers can view part models, manufacturing operations, and toolpaths.

Additive Manufacturing
In NX 2506, the Siemens commitment to driving additive manufacturing forward continues. Here are some of the enhancements that extend our additive manufacturing capabilities and help you save time and money.
- Fixed Plane Additive now includes a pre-print Slice Area Distribution checker that helps identify and report potential print quality issues prior to printing, which avoids wasting valuable time and material. In addition, NX offers a brand new Build Processor that generates output for the Farsoon industrial level Metal and Polymer Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) systems. The output of the new Farsoon Build Processor can be loaded directly into the MakeStar® software that runs on the machine, thus significantly reducing the time from part to print.
- Multi-Axis Additive includes a significant enhancement to the Freeform Thin Wall operations by offering multiple bead offsets in a single operation in combination with either an along-drive surface method or a morph-across-drive surface method. This can now be accomplished without the need to model multiple offset faces, thus saving substantial programming time. In addition, Multi-Axis Additive now also provides a length-based extension to the build style framework that allows you to capture and control machine-specific and material-specific process parameters, known as the secret sauce for individual segments of a multi-axis additive operation. This gives you automatic access to best manufacturing practices, such as a higher feed rate on short stepover motion and a lower feed rate on longer stepover motion, without the need for extensive trial and error prints, thus saving valuable time and material.
Our additive manufacturing solutions continue to evolve and grow as we strive to meet the requirements of our customers for their use of this exciting new technology.
