    nTopology 5.28.4 | 1.4 Gb

nTopology is pleased to announce the availability of nTopology 5.28.4. This release features our new Spline by Tangents block, allowing you to create curves with defined tangent directions.

    nTop 5.28 - What's New

    Spline by Tangents
    - The Spline by Tangents block constructs a cubic spline through points with tangent controls.
    - This block creates smooth, precise curves that pass through specified points and have defined tangent directions at those points. It is helpful in design, modeling, and simulation where exact curve control is needed, such as defining precise paths or profiles for implicit surface modeling.
. Block Name: Spline by Tangents
    . Location: Create > Curves
. Points: Ordered list of points to pass the curve through. The curve will be closed if the start and end points are the same.
. Tangents: Tangent vectors of the spline at each point. The magnitude of this value will determine the distance to the adjacent control points.
    . Output: Spline

    Block Updates
    - The FE Volume Mesh from CAD and FE Shell Mesh from CAD blocks now include a Preserved Nodes input. This allows you to select specific nodes to be retained in the resulting mesh. We have updated the Preserved Faces input. If left empty, the block preserves all CAD face edges by default.
    - The Remesh Surface and Volume Mesh blocks have been updated with a Preserved Nodes input to ensure selected boundary nodes are kept in the resulting mesh.

    nTopology 5.28.4

nTopology introduced the concept of implicit modeling for mechanical design, which is an innovative, modern, and scalable way define parts and products. It has many benefits to end-users and companies, such as the elimination of model failures, speed of changes or iterations, and scalability to name a few. But implicit modeling enables so much more. In this informational session, we'll explore a topic that is redefining product development – field-driven design. In short, field-driven design is a way for design, analysis, and manufacturing teams to overlay information into one engineering model. This approach enables orders of magnitude increase in design iteration speed and greatly improves collaboration between teams.

How Field-Driven Design Allows Engineers to Design for Additive Manufacturing

Watch this information session where we'll define field-driven design, show examples of how it enables better knowledge sharing, and show how it promotes the development of more sophisticated, highly engineered products. You'll also better understand how nTopology is addressing today's engineering problems through its nTop Platform product.
nTopology was founded in 2015 to enable engineers and designers to create any geometry — no matter how complex — and meet the requirements of high-performance products.
