Am Rand einer bayerischen Landstraße wird in einem Cabriolet die nackte Leiche eines jungen Mannes gefunden. Die Zulassungspapiere des Wagens führen den stoischen Kommissar Gabriel (Kurt Nachmann) auf das Gut des Grafen Anatol Manesser-Mankonyí, der gerade eine ausschweifende Feier zum Geburtstag seiner Frau gibt. Nachdem der Graf die Beamten ungehalten kurzerhand an seinen Sekretär Clemens (Fernando Gómez) und seine Dienerin (Renate Kasché) verwiesen hat, erzählen diese dem Kommissar hasserfüllt ihre Versionen der Geschichte, die laut ihnen zum Tod von Toni (Gernot Möhner), dem jungen Mann, geführt hat: Auf einer Modenschau lernte der Graf das dort auftretende, junge Bauernmädchen Verena (Ursula Blauth) kennen und obsessiv begehren. Nach der Heirat steigern sich die fetischistischen bis sadistischen sexuellen Spiele des Grafen in immer extremere Formen, bis Verenas anfängliche, verspielte Euphorie in Verachtung umschlägt…
