Zoom Up: Seiko's Thigh (1982)

Toshihiro, a photography school dropout, is obsessed with secretly photographing the lovely Seiko. He is in love with her and hopes to lose his virginity to her someday but is unaware that Seiko may attracted to him as well. After spying on her with one of her professors, Toshihiro becomes jealous and swears to forget about Seiko. As they both struggle with their sexual urges, a series of misadventures brings them closer together.

Koyo Ohara, one of Nikkatsu Films’ greatest auteurs, directs this crazy, sex-filled, upskirt photography love story!

This one is a light hearted romp about a boy(Toshihiko) obsessed with a girl(Seiko). The only way he knows how to deal with that is to stalk her and take pics of her without her permission. He also takes upskirt pics of other women to sell to a magazine to earn some money on the side. The tone is lighthearted with comedic overtones.

At the time of the film, one of the most popular female singers in Japan was named Seiko, and one of her rumored boyfriends was Toshihiko Tahara, who was a popular male singer at the time.
