This session focuses on at least three visual effects shots which use afterburn and pflow. Presented by Allan McKay, this lesson leads you through creating visual effects shots as you would in production, starting with an animated scene and then applying the effects.
Examples include having a tornado procedurally tear apart a house, trees and other surroundings as well as pull lots of dirt, rocks and other debris into its base funnel. Another illustrates planes firing at each other showing basic level flocking behaviors while displaying ways to make two pflow sources communicate with one another. Lastly, we’ll examine other “Hollywood” effects such as earthquakes.
This seminar is considered advanced and focuses primarily on finished and polished shots. Some scripting is used.

This report collects papers presented at the OECD Workshop on Disaggregated Impacts of CAP Reforms, held in Paris in March 2010, which focused on recent reforms. In particular, it examined the implementation of the single payment scheme since 2005 and the transfer of funds between different measures.
Special attention was also paid to reforms of the sugar and dairy sectors with respect to the quota system and the restructuring of both these industries. The papers also look at the impact of the new direct payment system on land use, production and income.

The Hands On HDV for the HVR-Z1U and HDR-FX1 was an equally good disc. Utilizing my friends Sony Z1U, I found the same quality as I had for the HC1 DVD. A different narrator retains the same friendly ambience of the tutorials, once again, clear and precise.

Professor Gary M. Davis returns with a 3ds Max class focusing on advanced rendering techniques and Mental Ray.
This class is for current users of 3ds Max who might be apprehensive about transitioning to (and embracing!) the Mental Ray pipeline. This course will be taught in 3ds Max, but the specifics and focus on Mental Ray do carry over to applications including XSI and Maya. The course will collaborate with the other professors who are working on the Zombie shoot.
