Ancient Europe, 8000 B.C. to A.D. 1000: An Encyclopedia of the Barbarian World
    Publisher: Thompson/Gale | ISBN: 0684314215 | edition 2004 | PDF | 1206 pages | 31,1 mb

A superbly written work that covers a history all but ignored in conventional historical surveys, Ancient Europe, 8,000 B.C.-A.D. 1,000 features 212 essays written for a general readership by 131 contributors. The span of years covered by the set is explained in the introduction of the first section: "The beginning is marked by the freeing of Europe from glacial ice . . and the end is determined by the spread of Christianity across northern and eastern Europe and the establishment of many European states that persist into the present." Many of the contributors are archaeologists, and the set is focused accordingly.

Subclassing and Hooking with Visual Basic
    Publisher: O'Reilly | ISBN: 0596001185 | edition 2001 | PDF | 687 pages | 14,2 mb

With Subclassing and the Windows hooking mechanism ("hooks"), you can manipulate, modify, or even discard messages bound for other objects within the operating system, in the process changing the way in which the system behaves. Along with this power comes responsibility; Windows is very unforgiving if subclassing and hooking techniques are used incorrectly. Subclassing & Hooking with Visual Basic demonstrates how to use the various techniques that deal with the interception of messages bound for one or more windows or controls: you can leave the intercepted message in its original state or modify it; afterwards, you can send the message to its original destination or discard it. For both VB 6 and VB.NET developers, this book opens up a wealth of possibilities that ordinarily would be completely unavailable, or at least not easy to implement.

    Springer; 1 edition (September 29, 2009) | ISBN: 3642043089 | 236 pages | PDF | 2 MB

The control unit is one of the most important parts of any digital system responsible for interplay of other system blocks. Very often, the model of a finite state machine (FSM) is used to represent the behaviour of a control unit. Modern computer-aided design tools include a lot of optimal solutions (library cells) for implementation of such regular blocks of digital systems as decoders, multiplexers, parallel multibit adders and so on.
