Les Siècles is a French philharmonic orchestra founded in 2003 by François-Xavier Roth, whose ambition is to put works from the 17th to today into perspective. The musicians of this orchestra play each repertoire on the appropriate historical instruments.

Saint-Saëns spearheaded the revival of chamber music in France, paving the way for Fauré, Debussy and Ravel. His Trio op.18, admired right from the start, was a special favourite of the famous Trio Cortot-Thibaud-Casals.

Born in Fiesole in 1986, Jacopo Salvatori is a pupil of pianist Maurizio Baglini at the Fondazione Musicale Monteverdi of Cremona. He first approached the piano when he was only four; two years later he began his piano studies at the Music School of Fiesole.

The very good idea to make this record came together when, like many other bands throughout this pandemic that refused to participate in super spreading events, we were trying to find a fun way to make some music together to share with people. Otherwise we were just spending our evenings texting the group chat in dread about the collapsing world around us. Not the most fun band activity.
