    Les Bienveillantes was commissioned by Opera Ballet Vlaanderen at the suggestion of director Calixto Bieito and is based on the novel by Jonathan Littell, a tough and monumental work in terms of length, theme, scope and depth - a bestseller in France, Grand Prix du roman de l'Académie française and Prix Goncourt, translated into over twenty languages - narrated in the first person by Maximilian Aue, a former SS officer.

    Together with Klaus Händl, who wrote the libretto, Hèctor Parra has created a musical, intellectual and human masterpiece. This triple album from b-records, which opens the new collection "Villa Médicis Live", allows us to relive the extraordinary world premiere with a first-class vocal team and the great conductor Peter Rundel.
