On 'Changing perspectives' German composer and clarinettist Rebecca Trescher offers her fellow musicians rhythmically, melodically, and motivically challenging pieces that also provide opportunities for adventure. Music that moves beyond standardised forms and requires everyone in the ensemble to step out of their comfort zone and be prepared to experiment with shifting roles. This can be a challenge for performers of her music, in this case pianist Andreas Feith (who is also co-composer of three pieces on this album), bassist Phil Donkin, drummer Tobias Backhaus, and guest artists Theresia Philipp (alto sax), Joachim Lenhardt (tenor sax, flute), and Philipp Bramswig (guitar, FX). Nevertheless, according to Trescher, "Phil Donkin and Tobias Backhaus, for example, are incredible players with a global perspective. They bring such calmness, serenity, and experience to the situation that I was able to sit back with a level of confidence that I have rarely felt before."

Together, Rebecca Trescher's troupe created intoxicating soundscapes, plots with striking twists and turns, and scenes that those who follow them will long remember
