One of the most electrified of Grover Washington, Jr.'s albums, this Columbia set features the popular saxophonist (who plays soprano, alto and tenor) joined by oversized rhythm sections and plenty of keyboards on a variety of funky and danceable material.

Kenny Barron was honored as an NEA Jazz Master on January 12, 2010, and it was a recognition that was due. Since entering the jazz scene in the early '60s, he has made his mark as a sideman (especially with Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Getz), solo pianist, leader, and composer. These 2009 sessions pair him with frequent collaborator Ben Riley and fellow veteran George Mraz on bass.

Much like two years prior, 1996 was an active year for the band, when DIRTY LOOKS released another two full length studio albums in the same year, namely 'Rip It Out!' followed by 'Slave To The Machine'. Henrik sounds so much like Bon Scott in "Something In You" that it's uncanny. Original guitarist Paul Lidel is back in the fold. A heavy slab!

Discovered by Dizzy Gillespie (whose 40's rhythm section left to form the initial line-up of the esteemed Modern Jazz Quartet) , Milt "Bags" Jackson was a preeminent vibes virtuoso and enjoyed over forty years as one-fourth of the MJQ (Milt Jackson Quartet). Jackson also enjoyed decades of solo work for great jazz labels such as Savoy, Riverside and Atlantic and one of his crowning achievements occurred over a three day session booked for Riverside in 1962. Answering his 'invitation' were fellow all-starts Kenny Dorham, Jimmy Heath, Ron Carter and Tommy Flanagan. The trumpet/tenor tandem uniquely augment Jackson' vibraphone, creating a driving, free-wheeling, classic blowing session.

Vocalist Michael Vescera is no stranger to fans of melodic hard rock and heavy metal. In his early career he was the front man for Obsession. Then Japanese legends Loudness call upon him and he became the first western vocalist for the band. He later moved on to sing for shredder Yngwie Malmsteen. In the meantime to the present he's found time to form his own band, MVP, work with Dr. Sin, Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan), The Reign Of Terror (Joe Stump) as well as running his own studio and producing other acts. Experience, time and a busy schedule has not dulled one bit of Mr. Vescera's great vocals. 'A Sign Of Things To Come' proves his strength and viability.
