Two years ago Infinita Symphonia very pleasantly surprised me with their fantastic debut, 'A Mind's Chronicle'. The Italian band came with a totally peculiar approach to symphonic power metal. With influences varying from progressive rock and metal, traditional heavy and power metal with a thrashy edge and a modern approach, Infinita Symphonia distinguished itself from many colleagues and as far as I was concerned they were one of the best newcomers in the genre. As it is the case with all newcomers, these Italians were to prove themselves on their second album and show that the success was not a one-time only thing. And dammit, they do that with excellence on their self-titled second album. The approach success formula of the debut is continued on this album and the band has kept its self-identity. The striking point is that the accent lies less on power metal, but more on a progressive approach.
