Jacob Wick and Becky Filip are The Honey Trees, a California duo with a name that conjures up images of idyllic splendor: all lush, sweet and organic. Which, as it happens, isn't too far removed from songs like "Nightingale," a preview of their debut album Bright Fire. For the follow up to their 2009 EP Wake The Earth (produced by Charlie Peacock of The Civil Wars fame), the pair encamped to Missouri, to record with Jeremy Larson, a producer who helped swaddle their songs in a lush, dream/pop blanket: “He essentially took our music to another world. He helped us achieve the magical, dreamy, otherworldliness we always strive for when writing music.”
