Although the best-known band of the early Australian punk scene of the late '70s was the Saints, the first band to wave the punk rock flag in the land down under was Radio Birdman. The EPs compilation combined two band's EP's - "Burned My Eye" (1976) and "More Fun" (1988).
For those who don't have Radio Birdman's classic second album from 1981, this pairing of it with the More Fun EP – issued in 1988 as part of a boxed set – is a great purchase. This is where Aussie punk got the kick in the pants it needed to become a worldwide phenomenon. Tough to locate the original, but it has been reissued more than once as an affordable import. "Burn My Eye" alone is worth the price of the record. The More Fun EP consists of four live tracks, three of which were taken from the band's last Paddington Town Hall show in 1977.
